Early literacy builds the foundation for academic achievement.
Davis School District’s Family Literacy Nights help families support children’s reading and learning from the earliest years through elementary school. Families will participate in hands-on activities, learn practical strategies and choose four sessions tailored to their child’s age, grade and learning needs.
Sessions are designed for children ages 0–3, ages 3–5, kindergarten and first grade, and second and third grade. Sessions will be offered in English and Spanish, with interpretation available in additional languages.

When families have the tools to support literacy at home, they help children build skills that prepare them for future learning and success in school.
Ms. Brown’s and Ms. Hagelberg’s classes brought their studies of Ancient Greek civilization to life with a fun-filled celebration!
Students crafted laurel crowns and togas made from trash bags before enjoying a Greek-inspired feast featuring dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), tzatziki, olives, feta cheese made from cow’s and sheep’s milk, bread with olive oil, grapes, and grape juice!
What a fun and memorable way to celebrate all they’ve learned! Way to go, Lynx!

Free summer lunches will be available for all children ages 18 and under from June 1 through July 23, Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at designated schools throughout the district. Meals are free regardless of income or enrollment, and no application or registration is required. Lunches must be eaten in the school cafeteria. Adult meals are available for $4.30, and extra milk costs $0.50. The program will be closed on June 15 and July 6. Participating schools are located in the following cities: Bountiful, Clearfield, Centerville, Sunset, and Layton.

America is turning 250 — and our students have something to say.
Davis School District is hosting Voices of a Nation: Student Perspectives on 250 Years of America, a districtwide speaking event aligned with America 250 Utah.
Students from every school and grade level are invited to apply to deliver an original speech about America’s past, present or future.
Selected students will receive mentorship and take the stage on May 4, 2026, at the Davis Instructional Services Center in Layton. The event will be professionally produced and live streamed for the community.
You don’t have to be famous to have something worth saying.
Take the mic. Share your idea. Be part of the story.
